Due to the ongoing concerns of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Virginia Horse Shows Association will be extending the suspension of all VHSA sanctioned events through June 10, 2020.
We strongly recommend that competition organizers suspend all VHSA sanctioned competitions until June 10, 2020. For those competitions that do run, there will be no accumulation of points towards VHSA year-end awards during this suspended period.
We hope that you all are well and safe. As you know this is a very fluid time in our state and things are changing from day to day. While we are in Phase I now, our re-opening date is dependent upon our Governor's Phases. Phase II is limited to 50 people or less. While the VHSA and other organizations have written to the Governor's office asking for clarification and waivers for horse shows, we have not received a reply at this time. If your local horse show can safely and successfully operate their horse show(s) and keep the numbers to 50 or less and operate within the guidelines of your local Health Organization and the Governor's office, then they can resume their shows in Phase II. Otherwise, shows will have to wait until the Governor's Phase III. Since we do not have a definite start date of Phase II or Phase III, we will have to await the Governor's announcement.
The VHSA will keep everyone up-to-date as much as possible.
The VHSA office is limiting hours of operation to Monday-Wednesday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. We ask for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. To all of our members, please be safe.
